A few days before the full-scale invasion, he graduated from university and stood up for Ukraine`s defense. In the war with the Russian invaders, wrestler Daniel Gerliani with nickname “Himalaya” was killed.
He was born on June 20 1998, in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv lyceum with advanced studies in law and received his higher education at the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University in Kharkiv. Since childhood, he was involved in Greco-Roman wrestling, competed in local and national competitions, and, during university studies, represented his institute in tournaments. He was a candidate for master of sports of Ukraine. Despite studying in Kharkiv, he was an active fan of football club Dynamo Kyiv.
A few days before the full-scale invasion, Daniel defended his diploma in Kharkiv. He returned to Kyiv and joined Kyiv defense unit, then moved to the Azov. On June 3 2022, Daniel Gerliani was killed by an enemy artillery shelling in Zaporizhzhia region.
