On May 6, 2022, near Vuhledar, Donetsk region, Ukrainian defender Serhii Hussidi from Mykolaiv died from shrapnel wounds.
He was a participant in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), defending Donetsk airport as part of the 81st separate airmobile brigade.
In peacetime, he worked as a school teacher, took care of patriotic clubs at the Regional Center for Tourism and Student Youth, and was the captain of the swimming team of the Association of ATO Participants and Disabled. After the start of full-scale Russian invasion, Serhii joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served as a platoon commander of the 90th separate airmobile battalion.
