Oleksandr Lizin, a resident of Chernivtsi, was a candidate for master of sports in powerlifting. He was a multiple participant in city and regional championships and a medalist in regional competitions.
He served in the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, holding the rank of sergeant. He was killed on February 10 and was laid to rest at the Alley of Glory in the Central Cemetery of Chernivtsi.
In recognition of his personal courage and heroism, as well as his significant contribution to the defense of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to honor the bright memory of the Chernivtsi residents who died during combat operations, he was posthumously awarded the medal “For the Glory of Chernivtsi.”
