A boxing coach with ten years of experience, Roman Zakharov was killed during the blockade of Mariupol in the yard of his own house while preparing food.
His students included Ukrainian boxing champions, Evgen Gholovin, a member of the national team, and Denys Panteleyev, as well as winners of the Donetsk region and Mariupol city championships.
In the final years of his life, Roman Mykolayovych worked at the “Meotida” Youth Sports School. He was a true patriot and coach. He was loved by his students and respected by his colleagues.
