During the defense of Ukraine’s borders from occupying forces, Yevheniy Holovany was killed.
Yevheniy was a multiple winner and medalist in the Ukrainian ski racing championships and had competed internationally. He was passionate about motorcycles and playing the guitar. Before the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he served in the border guard unit in Sumy, holding the rank of senior sergeant.
The defender died from a penetrating shrapnel wound and was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, Third Class.
