At the age of 46, while defending his homeland from Russian aggression, Valentyn Riabokon tragically lost his life. He was the head coach of the “AGRO-KMR” football club (Troitske), a devoted father, loyal friend, and faithful son of Ukraine.
Valentyn’s journey as a warrior began during his service in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) as part of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade “Kholodnyi Yar.” In February 2022, when Russia launched its full-scale invasion, he once again joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fighting on the Kharkiv and Donetsk fronts.
In May 2022, he sustained severe injuries, including a concussion and fractures. Yet, his indomitable spirit remained unbroken. After a lengthy recovery, he returned to the front lines, continuing his fight for the freedom and independence of his nation.
On October 6, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near Bakhmut, Valentyn Riabokon was killed in action during an enemy shelling. His death marked a profound loss for his family, comrades, and the entire nation.
Valentyn Anatoliyovych left an enduring legacy not only as a defender but also as a mentor and friend. For many years, he served as the head coach of the Troitske village football team “AGRO-KMR.” He was known as a loving family man, a kind neighbor, and a person always ready to lend a helping hand. His contributions to the development of local football and his passion for the sport will forever be cherished by the football community of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Eternal memory and glory to the Hero.
