On February 3, 2025, the city of Korets in Rivne Oblast bid farewell to Ukrainian defender Serhii Polishchuk. A graduate of Youth Sports School No. 4 and a player for the Rivne Rugby Club, Serhii consciously chose the path of a warrior, voluntarily joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January 2023.
A resident of the village of Holychivka, part of the Korets urban community in Rivne district, he fell in battle in the Kursk region on January 8, 2025.
The Rivne Rugby Club’s official page honored his memory with the words: “The Rivne rugby community bows its head in deep sorrow in remembrance of Youth Sports School No. 4 graduate and fallen defender Serhii Polishchuk.”
