In the battle for Ukraine, a brave warrior and formidable athlete from Novomoskovsk, Oleh Kutsenko, laid down his life. He was only 24 years old.
Oleh served in an assault unit, carrying out the duties of a reconnaissance machine gunner. He heroically fell on June 10, 2023, near the village of Ivanivske in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region, saving a comrade. Until his last breath, he remained loyal to his oath and the Ukrainian people.
Before the full-scale war, Oleh was actively involved in powerlifting at the Bypass club in the city of Samara from 2011 to 2021. He achieved significant results in the sport, fulfilling the standards of a Candidate for Master of Sports by deadlifting 200 kg. Later, after taking up arms to defend Ukraine, he underwent military training in the United Kingdom.
Those who knew him remember Oleh as a true patriot, a courageous warrior, and a devoted comrade—a wonderful son, a loving brother, and a loyal friend. He was always ready to help, embodying honesty, integrity, and fearlessness. This valiant defender gave his life for Ukraine’s future, and his sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of Ukrainians.
