The war has claimed another life from the Ukrainian sports community. Football player Volodymyr Moseichuk has been killed.
The night of June 23 turned into a black page in the history of Kyiv. As a result of yet another Russian missile strike, nine civilians were killed and more than thirty were injured. Among the victims of this cynical attack were Volodymyr Moseichuk, a player for the amateur football team Temp United, and his girlfriend, Anna.
Volodymyr was an active participant in Kyiv’s Street Football Challenge amateur league. He was known as a person devoted to sport—for whom football was not just a hobby, but a meaningful part of life. As a member of Temp United, he consistently demonstrated both his skill and unwavering commitment to the game.
“These were people we knew, with whom we played, laughed, and made plans. War does not choose—it simply takes. That is why we must stand together, support each other, and help,” read a statement from the amateur football collective.
This tragedy has deeply shaken the football community. Street Football Challenge has launched a fundraiser to support the families of the victims, in an effort to offer at least some assistance during this unimaginably difficult time.
