Anatolii Zeruk

Anatolii Zeruk, a well-known marathon athlete from Vinnytsia, was killed in Oleshky, Kherson region.

He was born on November 27, 1967, in the village of Poisky, Zhytomyr region. He lived and successfully was engaged in sport in Vinnytsia. Since 1993, he has participated in the Ukrainian athletics championships, and from 1996 to 2005 – in marathons.

He was a master of sports of international class, a multiple winner and prize-winner of international competitions – in particular, in 1999 he triumphed at the marathon in Enschede (Netherlands), and in 2004 he became the winner in Strasbourg (France). In 1998, at a marathon running competition in Hamburg (Germany), he set a Ukrainian record by covering the distance in 2:11:50 seconds.

In 2019, Anatolii joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
