On August 30, 2024, in battle near the settlement of Cherkaskie Porichne (Kursk region, Russian Federation), soldier and former athlete Anatoliy Vostrikov was killed.
Born on June 10, 1974, in Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamianske), he graduated from the Dniprodzerzhynsk College of Physical Culture in 1993. A Master of Sport in rowing, he was a man of great physical and moral strength, honor, and dignity. In July 2024, he took up arms to defend Ukraine and its people, fulfilling his duty to the Motherland.
A memorial service was held on September 7 at the Cossack Church of the Holy Protection of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The warrior was laid to rest in the Alley of Heroes at the cemetery on Vesnyana Street. He is survived by his daughter and brother.
