Andrii Sirobaba

In the fighting for Ukraine, on 29 October 2025 in the Luhansk region, the soldier and athlete Andrii Sirobaba — a machine gunner of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a native of Sloviansk — was killed. He was 23 years old.

From childhood, Andrii was dedicated to sports and always strived to grow stronger. After finishing school, he entered the Serhiy Bubka Donetsk Higher School of Olympic Reserve. He later continued his studies at the Donbas State Pedagogical University, completing his bachelor’s degree and enrolling in a master’s program.

He achieved the title of Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in judo and was a multiple champion of regional and national competitions.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Andrii and his family evacuated to the Poltava region, where he met Anastasiia, who had also fled from Donetsk region. The couple was planning their wedding and already had their rings, but the war intervened…

In June 2025, Andrii voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a machine gunner in the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and carried out combat missions on the frontline. The life of this courageous defender was cut short on 29 October 2025 near the village of Hrekivka in the Svatove district of the Luhansk region as a result of an enemy drone strike. Two days before his death, Andrii had been wounded, yet he remained at his position.

A true son of Ukraine, Andrii Sirobaba found his eternal rest at the Memorial of Remembrance in Poltava.

He is mourned by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and his fiancée, Anastasiia.

Eternal memory and glory to the Hero.
