He saved his comrades, but it cost him his own life. In the war with the Russian occupiers, the heart of boxer Andrii Yarchevskyi stopped beating forever.
He was born on June 11, 1999 in Brovary, Kyiv region. He started boxing since childhood. He did not become a professional boxer, but continued to train in his spare time and often attended various fighting events. After serving in the army, Andrii worked in Kyiv in the IT and telecommunications industry.
After the start of the full-scale Fussian invasion, he voluntarily joined the Azov Brigade, chose the call sign “Knockout” and defended Ukraine in the south. Later, in the summer of 2023, he joined the offensive guard «Hvardiia Nastupu». On November 4, 2023, at about 7 am, during an enemy shelling near Dubrova in Luhansk region, 24-year-old Andrii Yarchevskyi sacrificed his own life for his comrades, covering them to save their lives.
