In Donetsk, the life of Ukrainian defender and athlete Bohdan Mazur was tragically cut short as he fought to defend Ukraine in the hottest battle zones since 2014.
Bohdan was born on February 21, 1994, in Vinnytsia. He graduated from the local school, where he developed a passion for sports. He joined a shooting section and spent all his free time at the shooting range. Thanks to his diligent training, Bohdan earned numerous top positions in competitions and achieved the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine. However, when it came time to decide his path, following in the footsteps of his father, a career officer, he chose to become a soldier. He defended Ukraine from the first days of Russia’s military aggression.
Since 2014, Bohdan spent nearly every year fighting. He consciously chose his path and carried out his military duties with devotion. Over the years, he became a model professional, undergoing training in the United Kingdom, and earning numerous awards, including military distinctions such as “For Strengthening Combat Readiness of the Ukrainian Navy” and “For Exemplary Service,” as well as the President’s Award for his participation in anti-terrorist operations in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. When Russia began its full-scale invasion, he could not stand aside. As part of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Magura,” he repelled enemy attacks. However, on February 14, 2024, near the village of Stepove in Donetsk region, the brave warrior Bohdan Mazur was killed…
He is survived by his parents, his beloved wife, and their little daughter…
