Bohdan Mykitin

Dnipropetrovsk region has lost another hero. Bohdan Mykitin, a mortar operator, athlete, patriot, and defender of Ukraine, fell in fierce battles against Russian invaders near Bakhmut.

Bohdan was born on August 10, 1995, in Novomoskovsk. From a young age, he dedicated himself to sports, graduating from the Samara Youth Sports School. He was a champion and medalist in regional competitions and the national champion among students of secondary educational institutions.

When Ukraine faced the threat of Russian occupation, Bohdan did not stand aside. On April 29, 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the 762nd Assault Company. In the hottest spots on the front lines, he bravely defended his homeland. On March 28, 2023, during combat near Bakhmut, he sustained a severe wound. He fought for his life until the very end, but on April 11, his heart stopped in the hospital. He was only 27 years old.

Bohdan was not only a true warrior but also a kind-hearted soul—a devoted son, a loving brother, and a loyal friend always ready to lend a hand. His dedication to Ukraine and its people will forever remain in the memory of his loved ones, comrades, and all Ukrainians.

Eternal glory to the hero!
