In the battles for Ukraine, judo athlete Daniel Klass from Dnipro gave his life.
The 23-year-old athlete was a member of the “Judo Dnipro” sports club. He trained under the guidance of coaches Hryhoriy Korol and Heorhiy Havrysh. A talented judoka, Daniel was a candidate for master of sports, a bronze medalist at the 2017 Ukrainian U17 Championship and the 2018 Ukrainian U18 Cadet Championship, and earned medals at numerous other national tournaments.
At the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Daniel Klass volunteered to defend his homeland, joining the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The brave warrior died while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region.
