On New Year`s Eve, when people around the world were making their most cherished wishes, the Russian occupiers insidiously attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones and killed 15-year-old Denys Melnyk.
He studied in the 10th grade at Odesa Lyceum №7, and his great passion was dancing. He started ballroom dancing since childhood. Despite this, his teachers at the school recall that Denys was always embarrassed when people thanked him for his help and did not like to be in the spotlight. He was shy, polite and very well-mannered. On the night of January 1, 2024, he was celebrating the beginning of a new year with his family at home in his native Odesa. But on that festive night, the Russian invaders attacked the city on the Black Sea with drones. Unfortunately, Denys Melnyk was killed by a piece of a “shahed” in front of his parents…
