On the night of October 25, a legend of Ukrainian American football and a talented doctor, Dmytro Serbin, was killed while resisting Russian occupiers.
Dmytro, who played for the Kyiv-based club wearing the number 88, was a multiple Ukrainian champion and a member of the national team. In the Ukrainian American Football League (ULAF), he is regarded as “the best wide receiver in Ukraine’s history.”
Beyond the football field, Dmytro was a skilled cardiac surgeon.
According to the Kyiv team “Kyiv Capitals,” Serbin died while evacuating injured soldiers. He was serving on the frontlines as a military medic.
