Igor Khramtsov

On September 3, 2024, former fencer, Master of Sports of the Ukrainian SSR, and multiple-time medalist of the Ukrainian Championships, Igor Khramtsov, was killed in Donetsk defending the country from the occupiers.

He was born on January 15, 1972, and joined the National Guard in March 2022 at the beginning of the Russian invasion. During combat operations near Pokrovsk, Igor Khramtsov sustained severe injuries from an enemy shelling. Despite doctors’ efforts to save him, he could not be rescued.

Igor will be remembered by his friends and colleagues for his high moral qualities—honesty, integrity, sincerity, and his ever-positive attitude. A graduate of the Mykolaiv fencing school, he remained close to the sport even after his career ended, supporting Ukrainian athletes and celebrating their successes.

He is survived by his wife and two children. Eternal memory and glory to the hero!
