36-year-old Ivan Bidniak, an international class master of sports, European vice-champion in bullet shooting, died in the battles with the Russian occupiers in the Kherson region.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Bidnyak was in Europe, but returned to Ukraine, after which he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. All this time he was in the Ukrainian army.
A close friend of the sportsman said that he had died on April 20. At that time, Ivan was in Kherson region, performing a combat mission.
At the beginning of 2000th, the native of Marhanets graduated from Lviv college of Physical Culture and for many years was a member of the Ukrainian national team. In 2010, Ivan, together with Serhii Kudria and future Olympic Games medalist Oleh Omelchuk, won the “silver” team tournament at the European Championship in air pistol shooting at a distance of 10 meters. Two years later, Bidniak took seventh place in this discipline at the World Championships and won Ukraine’s first license for the 2012 Olympics. And in 2013, the athlete became a two-time vice-champion of Europe, as well as the winner of the bronze award in the team tournament.
