At night, when everyone was sleeping peacefully in their homes, Russian inhumans fired a missile at a residential building in Kharkiv. As a result of the terrorist attack on the Novobavarskyi district of the city, 9 people were killed, including football player Ivan Kharchenko.
While studying at school in the village of Velyka Bahachka, Poltava region, Ivan took up football. Ivan liked one of the most popular games in the world so much that even after school he did not give up the sport, but rather decided to improve in it. He joined the academy of “Metalist” football club in Kharkiv, after which he played for “Metalist-2” and later for “Velyka Bachka” FC.
How many dreams and plans for life 29-year-old Ivan had, which were cut short in an instant by a Russian missile. On the night of 31 May 2024, when people were sleeping at home, the Russian invaders shelled Kharkiv once again, firing 5 missiles at one of the largest cities in Ukraine. On that ill-fated night, one of them hit a five-storey residential building. The hit destroyed the fifth, fourth and third floors, and it took several days to clear the rubble. Unfortunately, the death toll was only increasing all this time. And Ivan Kharchenko was among them…
