25-year-old Ukrainian rower Ivan Shchokin died during the defense of Mariupol On March 3, 2022.
He was a pupil of the Kherson Academic Rowing School, a Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine, a prizewinner of the All-Ukrainian competitions among young men.
For personal courage and selfless actions shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, exemplary performance of official duty, he was awarded the Order «For Courage» of the III degree (posthumously).
Died on March 3, 2022.
