Maksym Voita

His life was only just beginning. The best was yet to come — new heights, new victories, new dreams. But on February 23, 2023, the heart of Maksym Voita — a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an athlete, and a son of his land — stopped forever in battle with the occupiers near Berkhivka in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region.

Maksym Voita was born on February 4, 2000, in Bila Tserkva. From an early age, he stood out for his strength of spirit, perseverance, and true dignity. He graduated in 2017 from the Kyiv Regional Lyceum of Physical Culture and Sports. In athletics, he achieved the second adult rank, specializing in race walking. On the tracks of regional and national competitions, he demonstrated resilience, technique, and a true sporting character — he repeatedly stood on the winners’ podium, claiming victories for himself and his hometown of Bila Tserkva.

But when the enemy invaded his homeland, Maksym traded his athletic gear for a soldier’s uniform. On March 23, 2022, this Hero joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As part of military unit A7092, he served as the driver of the first machine gun platoon. He was where it was hardest, where not only strength and skill were needed, but also endurance and the support of comrades. And he was there — until his final breath.

Maksym fell in battle, faithful to his oath, his brothers-in-arms, and to Ukraine. For his courage and bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class.

Glory to the Hero! Now eternity will guard his name.
