He was a master of sports in Ukraine, a multiple champion of national competitions, and the Ukrainian swimming champion. He competed in both long and short-distance freestyle events.
Maxym served as a contract soldier and defended the country from Russian invaders from the very first days of the war.
The athlete from Kharkiv died while performing a combat mission near Donetsk on the night of March 6-7, 2022.
