Originally from Kuranovo, Donetsk region, Mikhail began his athletic journey as a swimmer, achieving the rank of Candidate for Master of Sports in his school years. After finishing 11th grade, he spent the next eight years training in modern pentathlon, earning the title of Master of Sports.
In recent years, Mikhail turned to long-distance open-water swimming, becoming a winner and prizewinner of the Oceanman competition. He triumphed in the first Pentamarathon, a 50 km race from Voznesensk to Nova Odessa along the Southern Bug River, finishing with a time of 14:24:14. He also won a 33 km race with a time of 7 hours 28 minutes.
Mikhail voluntarily joined the army to defend his country. In the summer, he was wounded, but after treatment, he returned to the frontlines. He was just 37 years old when he passed away.
