Mykhailo Blazhei

Mykhailo Blazhei died because of an enemy shelling in Kharkiv region.

He was born on October 13, 1989, in Khmelnytskyi region. In childhood he was fond of football – he was the captain of the local football team «Dnister», participated in community and district championships. After graduating from school, he entered the History Department of the Ivan Ohienko National University of Kamianets-Podilskyi. In 2019, one of the happiest moments happened in his life – Mykhailo got married and became a father, his son David was born. In 2020, he got a job as a motorcycle driver at the Staroushytske Rescue Station of the State Emergency Service. However, like many families, the war prevented him from building a happy life.

In January 2023, Mykhailo stood up to defend Ukraine.  He served in the 14th separate mechanized brigade “Prince Roman the Great”. He was a rifleman assistant to a grenade launcher. On May 15, 2023, while performing a combat operation near the village of Masiutivka in Kharkiv region, 33-year-old Mykhailo Blazhei was killed by enemy artillery…

In October 2023, a mini-football tournament dedicated to the Hero’s memory was held in his hometown.
