A Russian missile attack killed European bodybuilding champion Mykhailo Donsky in Kyiv.
He was 71 years old. And sport has always been an integral part of his life at any age. He was born in Kyiv, graduated from school №163 and became a traumatologist and rehabilitation specialist, devoting more than 30 years to medicine. But at the same time, he was engaged in powerlifting and even successfully competed at international competitions: he twice won the European title, was a world vice-champion and two-time Ukrainian veteran champion in bodybuilding and powerlifting.
Almost every day he came to the «Lokomotyv» stadium in Kyiv to train. It was the same on January 23, 2024. Unfortunately, on that day, Russia attacked the capital of Ukraine with missiles, one of which hit the sports arena, which is the base for the Ukrainian Second League football club «Lokomotyv». Mykhailo was working out in the gym, which was located underground. Immediately after the accident, he was hospitalized. Doctors fought for his life for 3 days, but on January 26, 2024 Mykhailo’s heart stopped beating forever…
