Mykhailo Kravchenko

Every day brings us closer to victory, but instead takes our best away. On June 4 2023, Mykhailo Kravchenko, a karting coach, was killed by Russian invaders.

He devoted much of his life to motor sports. In the 1980s, his father started a karting club in his native Kozelshchyna, where, of course, his son also started to participate. Sport has become an integral part of not only Mykhailo’s childhood, but also his adult life. He was a member of the FAU Karting Committee, an organizer and functionary at different competitions and, first of all, a coach of young drivers at the “Ltava” karting track. He had ambitious plans for 2022 – to create a girls’ team, regularly participate in foreign championships, and, of course, move Ukrainian karting towards the world. But everything was interrupted by the war. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On June 4 2023, 46-year-old Mykhailo Kravchenko died near the village of Novoocheretuvate, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region. His wife Olena lost her husband, his son Pavlo and daughter Maria, who participated in the 2021 FIA Motorsport Games as part of the Ukrainian team, lost their father.
