Nazar Zuy

Russian air strike in Mariupol killed 13-year-old Nazar Zuy.

The boy was born in Makiivka, Donetsk region. There he took his first steps in sports – he was engaged in boxing. Later, the family moved to Mariupol, where Nazar became interested in football and played for one of the local teams. He studied in the 8th grade at school №25, had many friends and loved music.

Together with his parents, they lived in a five-storey building on Kuprin Street in the central district of Mariupol. When the full-scale Russian invasion began, they had to leave their home. On March 6, 2022, in a result of shelling, windows in their flat were smashed and a fire started in the neighboring entrance. After gathering the most necessary things, they went to look for shelter in the Mariupol Heating Company building. At that time, there was no more space there, so the family went down to the basement of the building №127 on Myru Avenue. On March 11, at about 6 am, the occupiers dropped a bomb from an airplane on the first entrance of this high-rise building. Mother Iryna, father Serhiy and their son Nazar died instantly…
