Ukrainian boxer and coach Oleh Pyshnyi was killed while defending Ukraine from the Russian invasion.
He was born on October 12, 1981, in Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad region. From a young age, he started boxing, which decided his future life. Oleh became a coach at the Svitlovodsk Integrated Children’s and Youth Sports School № 1 and headed the Svitlovodsk City Boxing Federation. His students and colleagues say that he never refused to help, always promoted boxing and helped with the purchase of necessary equipment.
In the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, on March 1, 2022, Oleh voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a reconnaissance machine gunner of a reconnaissance platoon of a mechanized battalion of the military unit A0342.
