Oleksandr Kozhukh was killed by enemy tank fire in Donetsk region.
He was born in the village of Volodymyrets, Rivne region, but lived in the village of Ozhenyn. He studied at the local Taras Shevchenko Lyceum and also played volleyball at the Ozhenyn Children’s and Youth Sports School. Later, he graduated from the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and started working for an Austrian agricultural company.
After the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was a platoon commander of the 14th mechanized brigade «Prince Roman the Great». On December 17, 2023, his native lyceum hosted the volleyball tournament in memory of Oleksandr Kozhukh.
