Oleksandr Martyniuk, a soldier and athlete, tragically lost his life due to injuries sustained in the war.
A former participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), Oleksandr later served as a patrol officer and was passionate about sports. He stepped on a tripwire and was severely injured. Despite being evacuated and receiving all necessary medical care at a military facility, he fell into a coma from which he never awoke. Oleksandr passed away on Saturday, October 8, at a medical facility in Kyiv.
In peacetime, Oleksandr was an avid runner, cyclist, and participant in orienteering. He took part in numerous sports competitions and marathons.
