Pavlo Unguryan, a Ukrainian junior champion in pankration and a multiple-time winner of championships in his native Chernivtsi region, died defending his homeland against the invaders. The tragedy occurred on January 9, 2025, in the Kharkiv region, near Kupiansk, when Pavlo fell victim to an enemy drone attack. He was just 27 years old.
Lieutenant Pavlo Unguryan served in military unit A7187. His life was cut short by an attack from an enemy FPV drone. He leaves behind a wife and an eight-month-old child, who now face life without a husband and father.
