Roman Polischuk, a Ukrainian high jumper, was killed in battle with Russian occupiers near Bakhmut.
He enlisted at the very beginning of Russia’s invasion. He served in the 206th battalion of the 241st brigade, which is currently stationed on the Bakhmut front. It was during the fighting around the fortress city that Roman Polischuk lost his life.
Before the war, Roman was a track and field athlete, trained by the renowned Ukrainian coach Iryna Pustovoyt.
