Ruslan Kurdas

Professional footballer Ruslan Kurdas died in battle against Russian invaders.

Kurdas began his professional sports career in 2011, playing 12 matches for “Dynamo” of Khmelnytskyi. He played as a right-back for various teams, including “Metallurg” (Zaporizhzhia), “Tavriya-Simferopol,” FC “Sumy,” and “Peremoha” (Dnipro).

For a long time, he played for “Khrystal” of Chortkiv in the Ternopil region, making 54 appearances in regional and amateur competitions, scoring 19 goals. He captained the team.

He also worked as a physical education teacher at Chortkiv Gymnasium No. 3.

After the full-scale invasion began, Kurdas joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and heroically died near Bakhmut.
