Ruslan Tryndei — a soldier of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Mahura,” a devoted son of his homeland, a warrior and an athlete — gave his life in the fight for Ukraine’s freedom.
Ruslan was born on 14 December 1979 in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region. After finishing school, he trained as a gas welder at Kalush Vocational School No. 7 and completed his compulsory military service.
From a young age, he practiced freestyle wrestling, becoming a multiple medalist at regional and national championships. He represented his schools at numerous competitions, earning prize-winning places. In peaceful life, he loved fishing and was always surrounded by friends.
From 24 August 2022, Ruslan served as a gunner in the 3rd Mechanized Company of the 1st Mechanized Battalion, military unit A4699. His comrades remember him as a brave and determined fighter, a man of honor who never refused support. He was open, straightforward, honest, and fair.
On 27 February 2024, while holding back the enemy advance in the Pokrovsk sector, Ruslan Tryndei was killed in action near the village of Berdychi.
He was posthumously awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of the Kalush Urban Territorial Community.”
Eternal memory to the Hero.
