Serhii Lysiuk

Doctors fought for his life to the last, but couldn`t save him. Serhii Lysiuk, a multiple world champion in kickboxing, died in intensive care from severe injuries.

He was a highly decorated athlete and a true pride of Ukraine, known and respected far beyond the borders of our country. During his sports career, Serhii achieved incredible results – he became a six-time world kickboxing champion and received the title of Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, he worked as a senior teacher at the Department of Physical Education at the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service, was married and had a son. The Russian invasion in winter 2022 forced him to join the army. Recently, Serhii has been defending our land from the occupiers in Donetsk region. On November 12, 2023, we received the news that while performing a combat operation, the kickboxer hit a mine and was seriously injured. He was taken to a hospital in Dnipro, where his leg had to be amputated. Everyone who cared tried to help the wounded man’s family and sent money for his treatment. In less than a day, they raised more than half a million UAH. For about 10 days, doctors fought for Serhiy Lysiuk’s life, but unfortunately, he lost this fight… On November 22, 2023, the heart of a brave warrior, titled athlete, loving husband and father stopped beating forever…
