Defending Ukraine from Russian invaders, kid’s football coach Serhiy Chmyr was killed.
He was born on November 23, 1972, in the city of Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region. Since childhood, he loved football – as a goalkeeper, he played at the amateur level for “Spartak” from his hometown, “Dnipro” from Cherkasy, “Lokomotiv” from Hrebinka, and others. He also connected his job with sports. He worked as a physical education teacher at local school № 6 and as a football coach at the Zolotonosha Children’s and Youth Sports School.
On the same day that the Russians launched a full-scale invasion, he decided to defend Ukraine. On the evening of February 24, 2022, Serhii voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the front line, he received the call sign “Bear”.
On November 8, 2023, 50-year-old Serhiy Chmyr was killed in the battles for Ukraine… Russian invaders took the life of a lovely son, husband and father…
