Vadym Dudko

Champion of Ukraine in Horting, Master of Sports of Ukraine, and Commander of the Reconnaissance Division of the Air Assault Battalion, was killed for Ukraine near Kharkiv.

He was originally from Volyn. Born alongside his twin brother on May 18, 1999, in the town of Dubyshche. After finishing his education, he began practicing sports, specifically combat horting, and earned the title of Ukrainian champion.

In 2017, he participated in the open championships and cups of Ukraine in horting, held in Lutsk, Irpin, Kropyvnytskyi, and Cherkasy, where he earned prize places. In 2018, he won gold and silver at the open horting championship in Ivano-Frankivsk.

In 2018, Vadym enlisted for contract service alongside his two brothers. He served in the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade. There, he also competed in the crossfit championship among teams from Zhytomyr and the open rugby cup of Lviv, winning prize places.

At the onset of the full-scale invasion, he became the commander of the reconnaissance division of the air assault battalion.

He was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage, 3rd class” and the Medal “For Military Service to Ukraine.”

Senior soldier Vadym Dudko was killed in battle for his homeland on September 7, 2022, near the village of Maksymivka in the Kharkiv region.
