The Europian champion in hand-to-hand combat Vadym Sotnykov died in battles with occupiers.

Sotnykov as a volunteer went to the front since the beginning of the full-scale war that the Russian Federation has launched against Ukraine. His brothers gave him the nickname “Trainer”, because in peacetime Vadym taught children hand-to-hand combat in Dnipro. His pupils successfully performed at Ukrainian and international competitions.
Sotnykov has repeatedly become the champion of Ukraine in hand-to-hand combat, won the “gold” of the continental championship and won other international tournaments.
