Valentyn Vozniuk

Valentyn Vozniuk was a track and field coach and the director of the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve No. 3 in the Dnipro City Council. In the 1970s, he worked as a physical education teacher at School No. 8, earning the title “Honored Teacher of Ukraine.”

Among his students was Dnipro’s Hanna Ryzhykova, winner of the European Games and bronze medalist in the 4x400m relay at the 2012 Olympics.

“He was the best director and a wonderful person. The school’s staff felt like a family, as he knew how to unite people around a shared passion and always treated coaches and athletes with respect. Eternal memory, Valentyn Feofanovych,” Hanna Ryzhykova remarked.

Valentyn Vozniuk celebrated his 75th birthday in October 2022. He was killed with his wife during a Russian terrorist attack in Dnipro on January 14, 2023.
