Volodymyr Androshchuk

Volodymyr Androshchuk, an athlete, was killed in battle with Russian occupiers.

Androshchuk, who turned 22 on January 10, represented Ukraine in international competitions. In 2018, he joined the national team for the U18 European Athletics Championships. He competed in the decathlon but did not win medals. He also represented Ukraine at the U20 European Championships in 2020, where he finished sixth in the modern pentathlon.

Androshchuk was a frequent medalist at athletics events in Ukraine, winning the national U20 decathlon championship in 2019.

He served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Bakhmut direction. His death was confirmed on January 25.
