Volodymyr Kyrychuk, a football player of the «Veres» club, died in the war with the Russian occupiers.
He was born on April 5, 1999, in the village of Ploska, Rivne region. He studied at a local school and received a higher education at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities, majoring in Physical Education and Rehabilitation. He took up sport in childhood. At the age of 15, Volodymyr joined the sports school of the «Veres» football club, where he played for 2 seasons. He was a defender and always played for the first team because he was tall and had a fighting spirit. Then he was noticed by representatives of the Orzhiv ODEK. During his football career, he played for different professional and amateur clubs. After the full-scale Russian invasion began, Volodymyr was mobilized. He underwent training and reassured his family that everything would be fine and he would return home soon. But, unfortunately, on October 1, 2022, when he and his comrades were being evacuated from the front line in Kherson region, the car exploded. At first, he was considered missing, but DNA analysis confirmed that 23-year-old Volodymyr Kyrychuk died that day…
