In the war against the Russian occupiers, 33-year-old Roman Buzile — a multiple winner and medalist of Ukrainian cycling championships, master of sports, and participant in international competitions — was killed in action.
Roman was born in Kharkiv. It was here that he began his athletic journey at the Olympia Youth Sports School, later graduating from the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture.
Throughout his sports career, Roman repeatedly became a winner and medalist of the Ukrainian road cycling championships across various age categories. He won awards at international competitions and represented Ukraine at the junior World and European championships. For his athletic achievements, he was awarded the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine.
Following the start of the full-scale invasion, Roman Buzile left sports and stood up to defend Ukraine. He served as part of the 80th Separate Galician Air Assault Brigade. Russian armed aggression cut short the life of the soldier at the age of 33.
Roman was laid to rest in his native Kharkiv — the city where he was born and began his path in sports.
Eternal memory to the defender of Ukraine.
