A funeral instead of a New Year dinner. On December 31, 2023, Ukrainian soldier Roman Tsipan, who died defending Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia, was laid to rest.
He was born on May 16, 1994, in the city of Berezne, Rivne region. At first he studied at a local gymnasium, then – at school, specialized in physical education. He decided to get the profession at the Berezne Western Ukrainian College “Polissia”, where he got a qualification as a physical education teacher. After graduation, he completed his military service and returned to civilian life, during which he was fond of sports and had significant success. Roman was a master of sports of Ukraine in weightlifting and was a member of the Rivne region’s team at the Ukrainian championship. His love for sports and hard work was in his heart. His late father, Yurii Tsipan, was also a master of sports in weightlifting, and his elder brother, Vadym, is an international master of sports of Ukraine in kayaking and canoeing.
From the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, Roman stood up to defend Ukraine. Unfortunately, on December 28, a few days before the New Year 2024, 29-year-old Roman Tsipan was killed while performing a combat operation in Zaporizhzhia region… At home, the Hero’s mother, sister and brother were waiting for him…
