On International Children’s Day, June 1, 2023, Russian missiles took the life of a young athlete from Kyiv, Viktoriia Ivashko.
The girl was killed together with her mother during yet another Russian attack on the capital, carried out with missiles and drones. She was only nine years old.
Viktoriia practiced judo at the Judo Master sports club. Just a few days earlier, she had stepped onto the tatami, taking her first steps in a sporting journey that should have stretched far, far ahead. Her coach remembers Viktoriia as a calm, brave, and joyful child.
That is how she will remain in our memory forever…
